Legendary techno church Berghain dropped the lineups for two of its most sought-after parties – Christmas Day events and the music hub’s 18th anniversary.
Kicking off on December 10th, the string of parties will start in true Berghain nature as Klubnacht – Achtzehn Jahre will take clubbers on a groovy journey of 34 hours.
Berghain’s birthday bash will fuel the industrial venue, its infamous Panorama Bar, and the hush-hush Elektroakustischer Salon with heart-thumping beats, as both familiar and new faces will dictate the weekend’s anthem.
The marathon-like event will play host to blue-blooded artists, including London-based Josey Rebelle, techno powerhouse Ben Klock, electronic DJ Surgeon, and French DJ Miss Kittin.
In the middle of the holly-jolly season, Berghain will open Panorama’s Bar doors for a special Finest Fridays session on December 25th. There will be no Christmas carols, but David Elimelech, Marie Montexier, Partok, and Roi Perez will make sure party-goers won’t miss them.
Following the Christmas event, the club will take a short break – but will reopen on Friday, December 30th. Although there is no word about Berghain’s NYE lineups yet, the venue confirmed the party will run through to January 2nd, 2023.
If we listen to the tittle-tattle going around Berlin’s streets, this might be the last we see of the iconic Berghain. Last month, an anonymous insider said that the club’s managers “don’t feel like it anymore and have other life plans in mind.”
This isn’t the first time when the techno temple was rumored to be closing down. But this time, something is different – Berghain’s booking agency announced it would cease operations by the end of 2022, after 15 years.
