Rampant inflation and the cost-of-living crisis aren’t a problem for concert-goers. According to a Bandsintown survey, 86% of music fans won’t cut back on gigs, concerts, and live music experiences despite rising ticket prices and recession fears.

After a three-year hiatus, the live music industry is finally bouncing back – kind of. With rising concert prices and COVID-19’s long-lasting effects, touring artists and music professionals are still battered by the economic conditions.

But fans’ unwavering support still backs up the fragile sector. After surveying 2,200 platform users, Bandsintown found that almost nine in ten music fans won’t sacrifice their passion despite the rising cost of living.

86.9% of those surveyed are willing to cut down on certain expenses, such as eating out, buying new clothes, and traveling to afford concert tickets. The findings also show that almost half of the respondents plan to attend more gigs in 2023 than the previous year.

The 13.5% who said they’ll go to fewer music shows quoted high ticket prices as the main reason, followed by inflation and their favorite artist not touring in 2023.
