Bonnaroo Festival is a melting pot of multi-genre music and stunning art.

The festival was created in 2002 by Ashley Capps, a veteran music promoter in the US. Spread across four days, the festival happens in the third week of June.

It is an annual festival taking place at the Great Stage Park, a farm in Manchester, central Tennessee, in the United States.

The festival is a melange of musical genres, ranging from hip-hop, country music, electronic, gospel, jazz, and pop to reggae and rock.

Bonnaroo Festival is one of the country’s most anticipated summer events thanks to its commitment to hosting a multi-genre lineup, near-flawless logistics and clock parades.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Bonnaroo Festival.

A perfect delight for true-blue lovers of pure music, Bonnaroo Festival showcases top artists from various genres. If you want to get your fill of diverse music from hip-hop, electronic, pop, rock, reggae to country, jazz, and gospel, this is the place to be.

Over the years, Bonnaroo’s stages have become the playground for top-drawer artists such as Cardi B, Donald Glover, and Post Malone.

Since music goes around the clock at the multi-genre fest, Bonnaroo’s crew brings in over 150 artists to keep the crowds hyped up.

Bonnaroo Festival is a tribute to New Orleans’ Music Tradition

Ashley Capps, co-founder of AC Entertainment, partnered with event company Superfly Presents to create Bonnaroo. Capps came up with the concept after the cancellation of Hot Summer Nights, a rock music festival that used to take place in Knoxville.

Bonnaroo was born with the mission to perpetuate the outdoor summer music festival tradition.

The name ‘Bonnaroo’ derives from Creole language and translates into ‘a good time’. With its multi-genre approach, the fest paid homage to the rich New Orleans music tradition, which Capps had a thing for in college.

The festival takes place on a farm

Named after the festival, the Bonnaroo Farm has become one of the biggest event locations in the US. Located in the heart of Manchester, Tennessee, it is a day’s drive away for 80% of the US population – but Bonnaroo makes it worth it.

The farm can accommodate a whopping 90,000 campers. But if you’re looking for other options, there are more than 150 hotels in a 50-mile radius.

Operating as an event site since 1999, the farm understands all festival-goers’ needs. Well-equipped and ready for another festival edition, the site features a lot of amenities.

Bonnaroo Festival is known for its captivating stages

Bonnaroo is one of those festivals where the stages are the centerpiece. With over 10 stages, – each oozing a different vibe, mind you – getting bored at the music festival is mission impossible.

The main stage is called ‘What’ and features the headliners. ‘Which’ is the second biggest stage, flaunting major names and acts. Then there are tented stages such as ‘This’ and ‘That’ which play genre-specific music.

Indulge in fun activities

Bonnaroo Festival ensures the fun never stops, even if you take a break from the music. Offering a plethora of activities, you can choose to go all-out or relax.

Food is a highlight at Bonnaroo Festival

While music is always a top priority, festival food is a big chunk of our experience.

Bonnaroo takes its food as seriously as its music, ensuring that festival-goers are as belly-happy as possible.

From fish tacos to beef burgers and tempting donuts, you are a step away from a gastronomic treat. There are also plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that are far from looking bland and boring.

Bonnaroo has a soft spot for art

As the name suggests, Bonnaroo offers a space for art and champions all its forms. The campgrounds have several interactive art installations and areas where you can discover your artistic side.

You can also take home some cool and original arts, crafts, and posters from the marketplace or Bonnaroo Works Fund Auction.
