A melting pot of music genres, BeachLife Festival fully encapsulates the SoCal aesthetics with legendary bands, veteran musicians, and a forever young vibe.
Founded in 2019, the festival is the brainchild of entrepreneur Allen Sanford and businessman Rob Lissner. It is an annual three-day festival held in the summer days of mid-May.
Attracting 28,500 music fans in 2021, BeachLife Festival is all about spotlighting the SoCal lifestyle. Besides music performances, you can enjoy meals by celebrated chefs and hang out with seasoned skateboarders and surfers.
Calling itself “lucky” for growing up in Southern California, BeachLife Festival is a celebration of SoCal’s culture and beauty. From the ocean waves and the golden sand to the smell of saltwater, the festival aims to bring these one-of-a-kind feelings to every attendee.
Whether you’re a local or new to the place, the event invites everyone to bask in Cali’s freedom, landscape, cultural heritage, and music ethos.
All three knew that authenticity is what matters most, so they took the festival concept and sprinkled it with elements that gave SoCal’s current status quo. In an interview, Lindberg said that “the ideas behind punk rock, surfing and skating as being about individualism and resistance” gave the location edge.
It’s no secret that beach culture is well-known for its punk scene since it has iconic bands like Black Flag and Pennywise at its core. With Lindberg as BeachLife Festival’s curator, there was a lot of gossip about him bringing a lot of punk into the setlists. But that wasn’t the case.
Supported by Stephen and Ziggy’s backup singers, which included their mother, Rita Marley, their performance struck a chord with people who underwent hard times during the pandemic.
The Daou SideStage Experience is a unique and finger-licking way to enjoy BeachLife Festival. On the side of the stage, you can enjoy your favorite bands while indulging in delicious meals cooked by celebrated chefs.
The 50-seat, high-end dining event is a one-of-a-kind festival experience that showcases California’s gastronomical talent.
Look forward to chefs like Ray Hayashi, who brings in Japanese-Taiwanese flavors, Kevin Meehan’s Michelin-starred culinary star, and BeachLife’s very own Jacob Ramos.
BeachLife’s roaring succes brought a huge economic impact to Los Angeles‘ South Bay.
In 2021, the three-day festival garnered more than$9.1 million for the local economy, $2.5 million more compared to 2019. Redondo Beach benefited most from the festival too, receiving $8.4 million out of the staggering $9.1 million.
Just like a champ, BeachLife Festival doesn’t stop at promoting the local music scene. As a fest with a cause, the music event dedicates its time to protecting local beaches and ocean waters.
BeachLife has been working with organizations that share their vision of sustaining the beach culture.
Philanthropic non-profit organizations that partnered with BeachLife include The Redondo Beach Police Foundation and Surfrider Foundation.
Parking is a real pain during BeachLife Festival. Instead of driving, festival-goers are advised to walk, skate, or bike to the event.
The festival does not control Redondo Beach’s public parking lots. While parking is available at or near the festival, they come on a first-come, first-served basis. This also applies to ADA (American Disabilities Act) parking spaces, which are only available in a limited amount.
Soak up the sun rays, feel the ocean breeze, and rock out to bands like Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins at BeachLife Festival.
