An offshoot of the stylish club Zouk Singapore, Phuture was a smaller club focused on an intimate party experience.
Located at The Cannery – a commercial property in Clarke Quay, a historical landmark along the Singapore River in the southeast of the city, Phuture took birth in 1996. It was a compact, friendly space with a futuristic decor and walls adorned by original commissioned artworks by local artist Jahan Loh.
The club was known to belt out contemporary, hip-hop, and R&B tunes. It attracted an energetic young crowd of locals who had no inhibitions in tearing up the dance floor.
A quirky and funky version of Zouk, Phuture was a much-frequented space to let loose. Unfortunately, the club is now permanently closed.
