Clubbing institution fabric London enacted a lifetime ban on a party-goer who mocked a dancing patron on social media.

On Monday, a video surfaced on Twitter showing a fabric clubber dancing freely inside the venue with the caption, “Yo I’ll never be going to fabric again after seeing this.”

The London club’s management replied to the tweet by saying, “Great, given this tweet, we’d prefer it if you didn’t come,” reminding the party-goer about the music temple’s no photo policy.

“Our club was built on the values of free expression and the freedom to dance and not be judged. We also have a No Photo Policy to protect our dancers’ privacy. Please do the right thing and remove this video.”

In a separate Twitter post, fabric announced that besides requesting the author to remove the video, he has also “been given lifetime ban.”

The tweet added that the no photo policy protects club-goers’ privacy, as everyone “should be able to express themselves freely at fabric.”

In June 2021, fabric London introduced the photo and video ban to make clubbers ditch their phones to enjoy the moment and leave room for dance floor self-expression.

The electronic hub noted that although the desire to document our night on social media is understandable to some extent, the reality is that “excessive camera phone use was ruining the moment for fellow dancers and the DJs.”

“Not taking photos or videos during a club event doesn’t just, we think, create a better vibe, but also gives privacy to fellow punters and to the artist playing who might not want to be in your photos or videos.”
