Dragon-i has become synonymous with the city’s nightlife. It has earned its reputation for matchless VIP treatment and lavish decor.
Dragon-i first opened in 1967, which makes this nightlife venue one of the longest-running clubs in Hong Kong. In 2002, it moved to the 41st floor of The Centrium building in Central Hong Kong. The area is known for its luxury hotels, upscale malls, and vibrant nightlife.
The high-profile club was established by founder Gilbert Yeung, owner of other successful nightclubs and bars like Cassio. Dragon-i’s sleek, upscale interior features a spacious dance floor with a star-projected ceiling to emulate dancing beneath the stars. The design is loosely inspired by Chinese elements, such as a modernized style of red lanterns and Chinese wall screens.
The music of Dragon-i is a mashup of current hip-hop and electronic beats. It showcases a regular lineup with well-known DJs such as Calvin Harris and Benny Benassi and hip-hop gods like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
From prestigious events to launch parties, the Hong Kong club has been a flagship of swank. Celebrity sightings are common, with the likes of Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Dave Franco, Bruno Mars, and Michelle Yeoh solidifying Dragon-i’s legendary status among party-goers.
