The club was founded by fashion guru Claudio Antonioli

Volt might not share the same nightlife values with posh party destinations Armani/Prive and Just Cavalli. But this clubbing trio has one thing in common – its members are all fashion designers’ brainchildren.

In Volt club’s case, the man behind this electronic mecca is streetwear couturier Claudio Antonioli

Following the roaring success of his multi-brand boutique chain, the fashion guru got the ball rolling on his king of nightlife status.

Back in 2016, the buzzed-about streetwear designer added a new branch to his lifestyle empire.

He opened Volt’s doors to Milan’s nightlife scene, ensuring it will be on every electronic aficionado’s speed dial.

Volt is considered one of Milan’s most visually-pleasing clubs

Forget about the steel-like floor, industrial walls and other electronic clubs’ traditional staples – this bad boy is all about bringing the New York underground style to Milan’s nightlife.

As the designer of an interstellar clubbing journey, Volt strikes the perfect balance between an underground vibe and a metropolitan high-life feel.

With a sleek monochrome interior and minimal lighting, Volt is the proud owner of an unmatched design.

The interior’s aesthetic embodies a New Yorkian beau monde thanks to its towering wall frescoes, off-the-wall layout and leather divans.

Antonioli explained his thought process while designing the club’s interior in an interview with Zero.

“If you go to anyone who deals with disco lights in Italy, they recommend the usual products, the ones that all the clubs have, but I wanted something different.”

The club was built on the remains of Milan’s oldest club walls

Five decades prior to Volt’s birth, underground partying destination Bang Bang – which was later called Devinia – used to monopolize the club’s venue.

Back then, visionary architect Ugo La Pietra was responsible for designing Bang Bang’s blueprint. By merging utopian ideals and postmodern aesthetics, Pietra had his eureka moment when he connected the club’s entrance to a fashion boutique.

But the icing on the cake is how samples of the shop’s clothes occasionally hang above the dancefloor during clubbing sessions. We’re in Milan after all – it comes as no surprise that music and fashion mesh seamlessly.

Sound quality is a top priority at Volt

We already know that labeling Volt’s interior jaw-dropping would be an understatement, but the electronic temple doesn’t fall short in sound quality either.

Since bumpy beats call out for a top-notch music system, Volt’s management puts sound quality at the forefront of everything they do.

All equipment from the club’s predecessor was swapped for a brand new audio deck and L-Acoustic arcs that fully encapsulate Volt’s music essence.

Volt has a soft spot for all things electronic

As the beacon of Milan’s electronic scene, Volt’s dancefloor is synonymous with the crossroad between traditional underground and new generation beats.

Back when Volt first opened its doors, the clubbing mecca was a mere twinkle in the Milanese electronic scene. Thanks to its constant commitment to reinventing itself, the clubbing mecca has now morphed into a must-stop-over for music aficionados.

Despite its fame, the club can only accommodate up to 500 attendees

Since Volt club Milan is on a constant hunt to level up the nightlife game, one would expect the underground venue to follow in the footsteps of the clubs that are expanding their space.

But the electro temple is a master at keeping clubbing sessions exclusive and intimate.

Volt can only accommodate 500 clubbers.

The venue doesn’t feature VIP areas, allowing clubbers to bond on the DJ’s infallible beats.

International DJs took over Volt’s audio decks

As a pioneer of uncompromising electronic music, it comes as no surprise that Volt masterfully curates its DJ list. Performers from every corner of the world graced the venue with their mixing skills.

Barnt, Peggy Gou and Axel Boman are just some of the names that took over Volt’s audio decks.

Volt club Milan is where fashion and music collide

When he opened Volt, founder Antonioli blurred the traditionally rigid lines between music and apparel by bringing fashion aficionados behind the decks.

In an interview with Vogue Italy, the designer highlights how creatives’ adventurous spirit is what brings the two industries together.

“Fashion designers and DJs share the same thirst for the unusual, for the less obvious, which urges them to devote themselves to a life of research, not dissimilarly from us fashion buyers.”

The dress code isn’t strict, but the door crew might tell you otherwise

Quite paradoxically, it seems like Volt has zero tolerance for classic and formal wear – at least this is what its website says.

At Volt club Milan, nailing the dress code translates into taking a casual outfit and making it look good. While the rule seems to be anything but strict, you should hold your horses for a second.

Sportswear, gym sneakers and anything that’s out of fashion are a big no – after all, you are clubbing in a fashion designer’s temple.

On some nights, Volt club Milan serves hot R&B beats

Although Volt delivers the finest electronic rhythms, the club also hosts hip-hop and R&B nights.

And it strives to bring the same level of quality as it does for the electro genre.

So don’t worry about the playlist, drops and tunes mixture – an international DJ will keep the night going.

Having elegance, class and art-like music sets at its core, Volt Milan is a must-stop-over for the ‘it’ clubbing session.
