Come to Panama Amsterdam and prepare yourself for a night that will be talked about for days.
Here is everything you need to know about Panama Amsterdam.
This Amsterdam nightclub is a pro at delivering unforgettable clubbing sessions – but it doesn’t fall short when it comes to rich history and jaw-dropping views.
Panama is nestled in what used to be a century-old warehouse.
Since the venue was once home to the city’s Port Authority, the clubbing mecca kept some original structures, such as the massive windows and hefty ceilings.
But the cherry on top is its location. Panama sits alongside the water on Amsterdam’s Eastern Dockland, giving clubbers breathtaking views over the neighborhood.
Whether local or tourist, everybody wants to relish in whatever Amsterdam’s nightlife offers. Embodying a mini-festival vibe, this electronic temple seems to have its arms open for anyone and everyone – or at least this is what its jaw-dropping capacity shows.
If we are talking numbers, the venue can hold up to 1,000 clubbers, with 900 able to fit in the club’s main room.
Because of its sheer size and capacity, Panama Amsterdam is a multi-purpose venue that can host a wide range of nightlife experiences, such as live concerts and private parties.
A quick peek at the list of clubs that defined Amsterdam’s electronic anthem will prove that Panama is at the forefront of everything it does. Primarily known as one of the city’s most lusted-after music meccas, Panama has a soft for bullet-hard techno and bumpy house.
But that is not to say the Amsterdam nightclub is fully committed to one music genre. While iconic names from the DJing realm such as Sasha have taken over Panama’s audio decks, R&B music heroes such as Alicia Keys and beat masters like Fatboy Slim are part of the picture too.
The same goes for an eclectic mix of genres consisting of commercial mash-up, 90s’ hits and Afrobeats.
If brainstorming lineups was an exam, Panama Amsterdam would pass it with flying colors. A wide array of roaring names from the electronic realm graced the venue with their spinning skills.
Tiesto, Mark Knight, Steve Lawler, and Sharam are only a few of Panama’s previously-hosted DJs.
Striking a good balance between upcoming artists and established industry talent is no easy feat, but for Panama Amsterdam it seems like a piece of cake.
Over the years, the clubbing mecca morphed into the go-to platform for the fresh talent that wants to showcase their mixing skills.
Progressive trance DJ and producer Fisherman is just one of the names who took over Panama’s audio decks.
By now you should have figured out that Panama has a 360 approach to music repertoires. This diversity calls for one thing – a flexible sound system that would fit every music style.
Fifteen years after the club was first opened, Panama Amsterdam’s team decided they wanted to elevate the venue’s sound quality and enhance the music-listening experience.
Naturally, they created a sound system from scratch that would fit the nightclub’s ethos like a glove.
As Amsterdam Dance Event festivities were approaching in 2016, Panama’s team realised the club’s sound system needed a bit more bass and flexibility. Club manager Timo Lassche said that although numerous audio brands tried out their luck with Panama, none of them hit the spot.
But after being “impressed by Pioneer Pro Audio’s systems at Booom and Sankeys in Ibiza,” Lassche and the team placed their bets on the Japanese audio equipment.
“We want to be known as the club with one of, or maybe even the best, sound systems in Holland. I think we’ve achieved that.”
In their pursuit of that killer sound system, Panama’s management equipped the back of the dance floor with massive speakers, as well as the bars and balconies. This created a top-notch, even and constant sound level.
Flexibility is at Panama Amsterdam’s core.
Thanks to its generous capacity, the nightclub is considered a multi-purpose venue that can host a wide array of events.
In the past, Panama Amsterdam was the go-to venue for private parties, fashion shows, business conferences and even weddings.
“Flexibility is very important for us. One day we’ll host a business seminar with presentations and speeches, the next day we’ll have a pure techno night, and the next day it’s a jazz party. ”
Timo Lassche, Panama’s Manager
Now, the Amsterdam club is better known for its yearly presence at ADE. When the electronic celebration descends on Sin City, Panama sheds its independent club status and becomes a host for Amsterdam Dance Event’s festivities.
The club was always a favorite among locals. Still, it was only after the installation of its renowned sound system that Panama became more recognised for its top-tier clubbing sessions.
Just like any other prestigious club, Panama found shelter amongt the top-rated clubs. Since 2017, the Amsterdam nightclub has been an integral part of the list and shows no signs of abating.
With its vibrant fusion of eclectic tunes and permanently buzzing vibes, there is nothing one wouldn’t love about Panama Amsterdam.
