Pickpockets Leave Dozens Without Phones at EDC Orlando

EDC Orlando is all fun and games until pickpockets steal your brand new iPhone during Martin Garrix’s set. This scenario is no stranger to the ticket holders who picked Electric Daisy Carnival as their festival of choice this season. 

Over 200,000 people gathered at Orlando’s Tinker Field stadium for carnival rides, ineffable electronic beats, and dreamy stage designs. But not everything was peaches and cream at the lusted-after music festival. 

Police have reportedly identified a group of pickpockets that managed to steal over 70 phones at EDC Orlando.

Organized roving phone thieves were anything but a rare sight at the electronic festival as multiple attendees took to Twitter and Reddit to warn others about the issue. 

Many festival-goers advised people to keep their phones on hand but never in a place that might be an easy target – such as bum bags and pockets.
