The Vienna nightclub has been operating since 2011 with aims of creating a haven for partygoers to enjoy the music for what it truly is without any affectations.
Grelle Forelle is on the banks of the Danube in the 9th district, which makes for an enviable location. It is in a building off the side of the road, adding an extra layer of underground feel to the venue. Inside the club you can see industrial lighting that strobes with the music, dark corridors, and trippy wall paintings that are a bonus to its already entrancing essence. Meanwhile, the terrace serves as a recluse from the pumping loud music so you can enjoy the view of the river and take in some fresh air.
Though its main sound is techno, Grelle Forelle nightclub hosts a range of local and international acts playing anything from dark wave to hip-hop, whilst remaining true to their passion for underground talents. Since the club is popular with music aficionados, its guests are those looking to experience new, eclectic sounds. The crowd is diverse and committed to the indie aura of Grelle Forelle. The nightclub is home to a sound system by ProPerformance unlike any other in Vienna’s nightlife scene because it takes acoustic treatment seriously. It is designed and created to immerse listeners to an experience untainted by any reflections or interference. The system honors bass without resonance; in other words, it is a ‘clean’ audio adventure.
