This September, Singapore’s first snow rave will take over the tropical island’s Snow City. C.L.D.P (Combined Local University Party) is bringing an off-the-wall raving concept, where temperatures reach negative numbers and icy blizzard storms are part of the package.
The sunny city-state will play host to a rave where sweating and boiling temperatures should be the last things to worry about. Instead, revelers might want to dig up their wardrobe for thermals and ski costumes – at this Singapore snow rave, they will party in sub-zero conditions.
According to organizers, the event will take place in Singapore’s Snow City, an indoor snow center.
The two-room snow rave will allow partygoers to pick between two partying concepts. While one features commercial mashups and a normal climate, the second one is where electronic beats and minus seven degrees temperatures reign supreme.
You know what that means. For a feverless snow rave, Singapore partygoers should layer up – but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t make it fashionable. A two-day staycation at Singapore’s Carlton Hotel will be up for grabs for the best-dressed raver.
Organizers announced that local talents such as DJ Vanvanz and DJ Nomi will spin the audio decks. More music acts are yet to be announced. The snow rave will take place from 9 PM to 2 AM.
The one-of-a-kind snow rave is a bold call for Singapore, as the island’s temperatures fluctuate between 26 and 31 degrees during this season. C.L.U.P described the event as “a chance to experience real snow-like conditions” with “real mountain snow” and “blizzard storms at random intervals.”
It seems like Singapore is finally making a comeback in the nightlife business. The city-state had one of the longest periods of COVID-19 closures, with nightclubs closed for over two years.
